Greetings, and happy March!
This month we celebrate spring, which brings us rebirth and new beginnings.
President Trump is using a new approach to tariffs for negotiating freer, fairer trade. For Daily Signal, I discussed, for example, why America should reject 100% Indian tariffs on U.S. motorcycles while only charging 2.4% in return. It’s unfair the European Union places 10% tariffs on imported cars, compared to our 2.5%. Yet Trump’s strategy gives countries time to rebalance. This isn’t about isolation—it’s about leveling the playing field for American workers and businesses.
For The Hill newspaper, I highlighted how women thrived under President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, leading to record-low unemployment and poverty rates and incomes soaring to historic highs. These pro-growth policies help women (and all Americans) achieve greater financial independence and stability. However, if Congress allows these tax cuts to expire, we’ll face tax hikes and economic setbacks. Policymakers must act now to ensure continued prosperity.
Artificial intelligence holds enormous potential for U.S. economy, security, and innovation. In my latest policy focus for Independent Women's Forum, I researched how AI promises to transform areas like health care, education, and financial services. The nation winning the AI race plays a pivotal role in shaping the future. To unlock AI’s full potential, the United States must harness its benefits while safeguarding Americans’ safety, privacy, and intellectual property from both domestic and foreign threats.
For First Things, I wrote about President Trump’s commitment to women and girl athletes. The White House Press Office highlighted my support for President Trump’s executive order—supported by nearly 80% of Americans—to protect the well-being of female athletes. Trump stands for women: his order keeps men out of women’s sports, restoring fairness, safety, and dignity—something former President Biden tried to erase.
IHeart radio host Karol Markowicz, hosted me for a conversation on healing from child abuse, PTSD, and depression through faith and community. I was grateful to share about my book, Motorhome Prophecies, and discuss how spiritual resilience transforms lives. Shows like Karol’s create vital spaces for deeper exploration of healing.
Lastly, I enjoyed waltzing on my birthday, February 15th. Hoping your new spring season is filled with grace, beautiful music, and joy.
With gratitude,
Carrie Sheffield
