Stand for Truth and Freedom at Harvard
New Fellowship Offers Support for Harvard Jewish Community
The concerns surrounding academic freedom at Harvard University are legion.
Recent events sparked discussions about the safety and well-being of Jewish students and faculty and open exchange of ideas on campus.
As a champion of education and intellectual exploration, we believe a diverse and inclusive learning environment is crucial.
What's happening? Christian alumni and friends of Harvard are joining together to address critical issues: the rise of antisemitism and erosion of academic freedom on campus. Recent events, including the Hamas terror attacks in Israel, heighten concerns about the safety and well-being of Jewish students, professors, and staff.
Our Mission: In an effort to uphold the values of truth and freedom, we've penned a letter to Harvard urging immediate action. Our requests include:
Adding concerned alumni to the Presidential Task Forces on Combating Anti-Semitism.
Ensuring viewpoint diversity by rooting out discrimination against Jews, Christians, and other people of faith in faculty hiring.
Restoring an environment of open debate and truth-seeking without fear or favor.
Why it Matters: Harvard's decline in academic freedom, as noted by former president Derek Bok, and its ranking on the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) free speech index, are alarming signs of a broader cultural problem. Our commitment to truth, goodness, and beauty is at stake, along with the safety and well-being of our community.
Join Us: Harvard grads—or those in your life—add your voice to ours by signing the letter at www.JohnHarvardFellowship.com.
Together, let's remind Harvard of its founding principles and work toward a campus where all can thrive in an atmosphere of respect and intellectual rigor.
Thank you for your support.
In solidarity,
Carrie
