Greetings,
As we welcome September and Labor Day, heading into election season, it's a moment to reflect on issues impacting our nation’s workforce and economy.
The poorly-named Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), passed with a tie-breaking vote by Vice President Kamala Harris, jeopardizes Medicare Part D by poaching from it to fund reckless government spending elsewhere. As I wrote for Independent Women's Forum, despite expert warnings, the Biden-Harris administration is downplaying these negative effects, leading to higher premiums and reduced coverage for vulnerable seniors.
For Townhall.com, I highlight how Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s extreme policies—like supporting "sanctuary cities," imposing harmful energy bans, and pushing large tax hikes—drive people out of his state. Walz’s failed leadership led to rising crime, economic instability, and loss of personal freedoms. With Walz eyeing the White House, his radical agenda would negatively impact American families and businesses.
We recently marked one year since Fitch downgraded the U.S. credit rating, and the Biden-Harris administration’s policies are largely to blame. Downgrades lead to higher borrowing costs, a development I discussed for IWF. With the national debt at more than $35 trillion and interest payments surpassing spending on defense and Medicare, Harris's policies worsened inflation and reduced taxpayers' real income. We can’t afford four more years of this.
I joined Fox's OutKick the Morning with host Charly Arnolt to discuss athletes with XY chromosomes competing in women’s sports. We highlighted safety and fairness concerns, especially when politics overshadow science. We were struck by Italian boxer Angela Carini’s decision to withdraw from a fight against a genetically male opponent, prioritizing her safety. This issue affects not just sports, but also women’s prisons, shelters and other spaces. It’s a significant human rights concern with far-reaching implications. Watch below:
In my recent discussion with Zach Clinton, Vice President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, on The Built Different Podcast, I shared the story of my book, Motorhome Prophecies, and how spiritual faith and effective mental health care treatment were inseparable for me, a phenomenon proven by science. Watch below:
It was an honor to speak on the Tony Blankley Fellow panel at The Steamboat Institute’s Freedom Conference in beautiful Beaver Creek, Colorado. I also enjoyed meeting readers and signing copies of Motorhome Prophecies.
We encourage you to get your copy of Motorhome Prophecies and leave a five-star review on Amazon. We’d love for you to join us on our book tour and keep an eye out for future updates!

With gratitude,
Carrie Sheffield
p.s. For Utah friends, please join us Sept. 13 with Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes at Provo City Library for a book discussion about Motorhome Prophecies, mental health and preventing child abuse.
