Happy Independence Day! I’m deeply grateful for our exceptional founders who inspire me today.
June was a busy month! I testified before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy and shared how Americans--especially poor, minority and single female-led households--are pummeled by record inflation, high gas prices, baby formula shortages and other economic pains. Our families deserve so much better, and I'm hopeful we can develop policies that create the economic freedom we need for all to recover and thrive. You can watch some highlights here, watch the full committee here, or read my written testimony here.
Unbanked and underbanked Americans are left vulnerable amid record inflation and financial regulatory policies that restrict access to non-traditional banking services. I researched these issues in the Independent Women’s Forum June Policy Focus titled “Protecting Lending Services For Unbanked, Low-Income Americans.” You can read the main takeaways here and listen to a podcast about the research here.
After nearly two and a half years away from New York City, I visited CNN in Manhattan for two primetime evening appearances discussing June’s landmark Roe v. Wade SCOTUS decision. You can view part of the conversation from that historic night here. I previously wrote for CNN Opinion about why I believe protecting innocent life from abortion is a human right.
I spoke at the Arlington Republican Women's Club about the “Our Bodies, Our Sports Rally” defending women’s sports.
In June, I also signed as contributor for Daily Wire’s “Morning Wire” podcast and joined as contributor for The Daily Caller writing blog opeds about politics and economic policy.
For The New York Post, I wrote about the leftward turn of Yale’s School of Management and problems with President Biden’s student loan “forgiveness” schemes.
Heading into July 4th weekend, I’m excited to share a story of an American original who flourished despite a difficult past. Fox News host Tyrus' toxic stepfather bashed out 13-year-old Tyrus’ front teeth, eventually leading Tyrus to depart home at age 16 with belongings in a trash bag, sparking years of couch surfing. As rising generations of fatherless, latchkey kids suffer from opioid overdoses and other postmodernism-induced ailments, Tyrus’ story of triumph is that much more inspiring. Hope you’ll read my Federalist review of Tyrus' incredible book here.
Until next time, wishing you a thriving July!
