Greetings and happy time for giving thanks! I’m thankful for a new role I began yesterday, at the America First Policy Institute. AFPI is led by the visionary Linda McMahon and Brooke Rollins. I’m Director of AFPI’s Center for the American Worker and Director of the Center for American Values.
For me, the concept of “America First,” is like the instructions to airplane passengers before taking flight: “put your oxygen mask on first before helping others." A healthy, vibrant America at its best is a beacon for the world that enables peace through strength.
For The Daily Caller, I wrote about how painful inflation keeps spiking under progressive-led Washington, and how voters are taking notice. I also wrote about how under President Biden and congressional Democrats’ watch, last month’s jobs report shows Americans are still suffering painful pay cuts due to the ravages of inflation. And I set the record straight on how the White House somehow wants Americans to believe they haven’t supercharged the deficit.
With Election Day coming, America’s kids are in crisis as student performance plunges. American families are in a painful economic state today, compared to before COVID, as illustrated by AFPI below:
My hope is after next week, America will start turning the ship around.
I’ve long been a supporter of the organization Silicon Harlem, which brings innovation to Harlem in Manhattan. Last month, Silicon Harlem held its annual conference, and if you missed out, I hope you’ll follow and bookmark this organization for future events.
For Independent Women’s Forum, where I’ll remain as a Senior Fellow, I explored “Two Truths and a Lie” about poverty and inequality in America. I also spoke with my IWF colleague Julie Gunlock about my upcoming memoir and gave advice for recovering from traumatic childhoods.
Lastly, if you missed our IWF 30th Anniversary Gala, watch our replay here and also check out our gala program here.
Until next month, wishing you and yours a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!
In gratitude,
Carrie Sheffield
